Victoria Budhan

Victoria Budhan’s practice focuses on white collar defense, commercial litigation, as well as complex regulatory compliance and enforcement matters.

Ms. Budhan has experience assisting in all stages of complex commercial litigation and white collar defense matters at both the trial and appellate levels. Her work includes matters involving civil RICO and defamation claims. She regularly conducts legal research, drafts substantive motions and briefs, and supports discovery-related filings and litigation strategy. In addition, she assists in preparing clients for interviews and meetings with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) in connection with government investigations.

Ms. Budhan also assists firm partners on matters involving U.S. economic sanctions and export controls. Her experience includes advising clients on U.S. sanctions compliance, including sanctions screening, OFAC licensing, and the development and maintenance of compliance programs. She has also assisted multiple individuals designated on OFAC’s Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons (“SDN”) List in pursuing removal from the list, including preparing delisting petitions and supporting advocacy before OFAC. In addition, Ms. Budhan regularly conducts legal research and analysis on evolving U.S. sanctions and export control regimes and assists clients in navigating complex cross-border regulatory issues.

Prior to joining Akrivis, she served in several legal capacities including as legal intern at Kroll Inc., legal intern at Sethi Clarity Advisers, and student member at the New York City Bar Securities Litigation Committee.
